WELCOME

To the Roots of the Smith and Saxon Families

This site is in the process of being built, the journey and the detective work never-ending. Hopefully when you should find something different each time you visit.

I hope you enjoy your visit.

There are two pieces of terminology, often synonymous – Genealogy and Family History. You can find slight differences in definition which can also be interchangeable.

The Society of Genealogists describes them as follows:

Genealogy – “the establishment of a pedigree by extracting evidence, from valid sources, of how one generation is connected to the next.”

Family History – “the biographical study of a genealogical proven family, and the community and country in which they live.”

This site is all about family history, but you may find a few trees.

The notes etc, in the beginning are teasers, hopefully of help to you on your genealogical journey. They are not meant to be exhaustive.

Any errors are mine alone.
